I was looking for a short cute read when I picked this up. I was so not disappointed. This book was so cute and heartwarming...it melted my toes.
I read this entire book in one sitting. Yes it was a an easy read but my eyes were practically glued to the pages.
I liked the story in this book. I'm a sucker for a romance that starts off when the they were all kids. It's just so adorable.
I felt pretty bad for Ashton for a good part of the book. Mainly because she felt like she couldn't be herself. That shouldn't be the way things are....ever. I'm glad she finally stood up (a little bit) and became who she was meant to be.
Ok...so I wanted to pretty much b****slap Sawyer pretty good a couple of times. Just for the things he allowed to happen. It was crap. Total crap. Yes...he was gorgeous but dammit....
But...wait for it....Beau enters the scene and Oh.My.Gawd. Hotness doubled. Haha! He was what I was looking for. Everything that Sawyer wasn't, Beau was. He took action and was EXACTLY what Ashton needed.
One of the most annoying things to me in a book, or outside of a book, is when a girl doesn't stand up for herself. I have to say I was getting mildly annoyed that Ashton took crap that she didn't deserve. But that aside, I really liked this book and was glad I read it.
I thought this was a YA read but apparently it's for the older teens. Haha you'll see what I mean when you read it. Caught me offguard it did.
A couple of my favorite lines:
"This is the part I've been looking forward to," he murmured in my ear as he adjusted my hands on the stick. The heat from his body made me want to snuggle up against him.
"Ash, I'm trying real hard to be good. Good isn't my thing but Sawyer's important to me. Please remember I've got limits and you studying my mouth like you want a taste is pushing me dangerously close to the edge of those limits."
