This is still my favorite series (outside of Stephen King's Dark Tower which is more like a religion). I am so invested in these characters. I really need to rename my Basset Hounds Caine and Diana. This installment is decidely more adult, as they have become with each book, but the progression is logical. The trauma these kids endure is never glossed over, which allows the audience to feel compassion for them rather than judgment.
And that ending! My greatest fear was that Fear would be the last of the series. Now I have another agonizingly long wait for the next one. I so admire Michael Grants ability to take us into the strangest of places, but rooting it in plausibililty. When I try to explain what the series is about, it sounds so ridiculous that I end up just screaming, "You have to READ it!" That is my advice to all of you - READ it!
