it was amazing
bookshelves: fantasy, children-schapterbooks

audiobook. The barony of Cant is a "real" place, but most people haven't heard of it, and since it is in the center of the part of the world it's in, it's right at the fold of the map. Hardworking, dependable Lucy is an orphan and maid to the baron's only daughter, when she is pulled unwillingly into a world of spying and a crisis of gum-chewing politics and baronial succession. I thought it odd that the reader, though very good, was male when the main character is female. This was shelved in the teen section, but it would appeal more to middle-schoolers
