The final installment of this trilogy is gorgeous in every sense. Every story is wrapped up, not always with a nice little bow, and these beloved characters are given their proper due. I am incredibly pleased with the writing and how simultaneous story lines are made clear, and with the overall beauty of the descriptions. There are some lovely mentions of previous happenings and characters from this series -- like Tom Bombadil, and the dream Frodo experienced while staying with him -- that create a really fantastic sense of continuity. The overall arc of the story is never lost because everything connects, somehow. Brilliant work.
