bookshelves: children-s-lit, the-classics

This book can honestly be said to have changed my life. I know, a little too deep for the bunny book. However, this book came to me from a youth counselor while I was in a lock up facility at age 15. I was very troubled and she saw my talents. This counselor, Barb, was fantastic. She cultivated my real interests and sent me forward. This book was the first that I had devoured since early childhood horse stories had stopped pleasing me or challenging me. I loved this story and I found myself too distracted by it to be bothered with my problems. A real life saver.

Does it have anything to say about the quality of the story... I suppose that is why it is a classic. I really can't say anything else.
