Rose I'm so excited for you to be starting this. It's the best fantasy you will ever read. I'll be starting dance with dragons in January.

Katrina Been meaning to pick this one up, enjoy!

message 3: by Robyn Gail (new) - added it

Robyn Gail looks like I might need to pull this one off the shelf and read it soon

Elizabeth Morgan I might need to give this another go. It's been languishing on my Kindle for months because the mysogyny of the whole thing annoyed me but maybe I can overlook it and give it a proper go.

message 5: by K. (new)

K. Wood Misogyny of the whole thing? Read the whole thing and you might not think that. =)

Females are some of the most powerful characters in the books.

Elizabeth Morgan Yes I should give it a proper chance before I condemn it :)

Rose I never felt there was any mysogyny in those books. The women are some of the strongest characters I've ever read about.

Kate Some of the male characters are certainly mysogynistic, but the actual story doesn't take the same view. I read these for Arya :-)
