Jeffries has created a wonderful series with the Hellions of Halstead Hall. Orphans from a supposed murder / suicide of their parents, all five grandchildren are challenged by their grandmother to marry within the year or she'll disinherit the lot of them. This book is about Gabriel, or Angel of Death as he is known. Each child dealt with the death of their parents differently and in Gabriel's grief he learned to challenge death at every turn. Not that his method has saved him any pain as his boyhood friend Roger was killed in wicked horse race with Gabriel.

Faced with his grandmother's challenge, and guilt over Roger's death Gabriel sets his sights on marry Roger's sister Virginia. However he'll have to get off the race course and learn how to deal with women if he wants to win her heart.

This romance is filled with emotion, horse racing, and passion. Jeffries knows how to write a love scene that will leave you lusty and you won't have to use much of your imagine about the details. But there is always love with her passion and everyone always ends up married. This is a feel good read.
