liked it

After I got over being annoyed with the author's tendency to slip into first person narrative, I actually kind of enjoyed this biography. The first half focused heavily on Alcott's father Bronson--I didn't know anything about him, so I was surprised by how disturbing he was. My favorite parts were the chapters on Alcott's brief service as a Civil War nurse and of course, her writing of Little Women. Probably not the best Louisa May Alcott biography out there, but readable and interesting.
