I received this as apart of the Once Upon a Twilight ARC Book Tours.

I absolutely love that this book is written in verse. It's clear and concise, which is a plus for this novel. It doesn't come off as an overwritten book, and being 400+ pages that's a good thing. It's really easy to get into. I read this in one sitting. This is a lighter verse novel. Usually they pack a punch and eviscerate you. This story, while raw and emotional, is a much sweeter ride.

The emotions are easily understood. I could identify with the idea of being a leftover, which wasn't always comfortable. I could remember those times in school. Glad I don't have to relive those days. The trapped feeling of loneliness. I can see why Marcie sought out comfort where she could.

A great coming of age novel. One that's full of emotion. An introspective look at relationships. How me must first be honest with ourselves, if we expect them to work. We are all fragile beneath the surface. In the end, it left me smiling.
