it was amazing
bookshelves: mysteries-thrillers, favorites, historical-fiction
Read in June, 2008

This was an excellent read of fiction, a book that has become one of the my favorite fiction reads. The strong use of history, geography, politics, culture, and legend combined with strong characters, vivid settings, and a tense and fascinating plot make this a book I thoroughly enjoyed. I love history and enjoy studying many parts of it, thus, this book was tremendously fun to read as it detailed and described a large amount of medieval and modern history. The use of interesting letters, not mentioning the main narrator's name, and the vivid settings make this book so much fun to read. I am not a fan of the horror genre, but this book was so much more then a book about horror. The Historian was a amazing mix of historical fiction, mystery, suspense, fantasy, and horror combined and mixed in such a way that it left me spell bound. Highly recommended

Caitlin Thomson I am indeed surprised. I liked the book, but found parts of it to be quite boring, and I thought the pace and the writing were a bit uneven. However I have yet to finish it, but your opinion on the matter will deffentley motivate me to do so.

I am wondering if vampires are really true. So many vampire novels are appearing after the "Twilight" mania. But I dont like it either. For me, this the best vampire novel ever printed. This is a combination of history, adventure and learning. A must read indeed.
