Manhunt is a great book giving a detailed account of the 12-day chase following John Wilkes Booth killing President Abraham Lincoln. Very well written and interesting from start to finish. This book shows how misguided Booth was in his political and moral beliefs. He was caught up in the Civil War supporting the confederacy. He hated blacks and everything change proposed by the north. He felt it a great patriotic act to take out Lincoln and in some way extend the war and hopefully turn in around in favor of the South. All of this even though General Lee had already surrendered to Grant just a few days before the shooting.
