The Mediterranean pirate life is documented in this fascinating book. For a rather short period of time, pirates worked out of well-known cities along the North African coast, and lived the life we envision when we think of pirates.

With scant source materials to work from, Peter Lamborn Wilson nonetheless manages to place the pirates lives and careers in parallel with contemporary European lives.

This is a vivid and memorable book, and, sadly, a quick read. I wish it could have been 3x times longer!
