I found this story interesting despite it not really resonating with me. I'm glad it was so short or I doubt I could have stayed with it.
I liked the refences to the constant 'humming of the machine', as well as the interaction between different kinds of agencies and the message of embodied joy (and the warning against dispossessed logic?), but something still felt off- it reminded me a bit of the Matrix- if the Matrix took place in a technocratic Victorian sexuality steam punk kinda thing... Which actually, now that I think about it, sounds kinda cool.
