PC and Kristin Cast have written an amazing set of books so far with this series and I'm very proud to be a fan of it. For some reason, though, I couldn't get into this book as well as the previous ones. I'm not saying that it wasn't good. One of the things I enjoyed were that the authors wrote from Kalona and Rephaim's point of view in this book. I really enjoy seeing the "bad guys" as actual characters and not one dimensional.
I think the reason that I couldn't get into this book is that I feel a lot of the bulk was taken out of the writing. The thought process to the revelations, the action scenes, the interaction between characters were all cut up to smaller scenes so that the book would still be the same length as the previous ones and would cover more area. It made it harder to fall into the book and get lost in the story, but I understand the authors' need to do those things. I just wish the character interaction hadn't suffered because of it. I still believe, with what PC and Kristin were given to work with, they did an amazing job, and the book is glorious.

That being said, I believe my only complaint about the book is that too much of the action and bulk was cut out of the story line. That's the only thing I can come up with. Otherwise, brilliantly written, very well done, gorgeous storyline.
