Good read; the first of the Jackson Brodie series; the second one that I have read. These are mysteries disguised as novels or perhaps the reverse. Either way, tough to put down at times and certainly engaging. Again, a multiple threaded plot about a 3 year old girl who went missing 25 years ago, a ten year old murder that appeared random but wasn't, and a young mother who made a false confession. This author has a wonderful turn of phrase: "Amelia was scrambling eggs for breakfast, the leading edge of her culinary skills." A humorous description that instantly creates another insight into Amelia.
