Flavia stays eleven years old. Her scientific knowledge still helps solve crimes, but at the same time, she and her sisters play nasty little tricks on each other, and she doesn't understand what some of the key scenes in Madame Bovary are about.

New characters: the formidable Aunt Felicity, the unconventional Mad Meg, a samovar named Peter the Great, and a former German POW who'd been shot down over England because of his love of the Bronte sisters.

Cosy. Almost YA. Fun.
