First of all I want to say that I'm going to keep this short, because a lot of people feel the same way about this and I don't want to repeat too much of what has already been said.

I'm seriously torn though... I want to give this book 1 star, but I'd feel too much of a bully, so I'm gonna go with 1.5 or even maybe a 2. As many before me have said, this book really is so much like Twilight that I had a hard time trying to not burn or trash it.

The romance was badly written. (At least Bella takes "some" time to consider the insanity of her infatuation with a boy she doesn't even know well.) Every situation described was too perfect. Everybody likes the main character. Everyone wants to protect her. Their love is so deep after only a couple of chapters that I wanted to facepalm myself right then and there. (And what's up with the Father?!)

I expected A LOT from this book since I really did like the first two chapters. But after those it just went downhill.

I'm not a big Twilight fan anymore (because the whole hype around it kind of ruined it all for me), but if you want to know what kind of book "carrier of the mark" is, then reread Twilight. At least that book is well written and the characters do have some depth, something that seems to be completely lacking in this book.

I hate it when I have to give bad reviews, but I feel like I just wasted a lot of time reading this book. I hoped it would get better somewhere in it, but no such luck.
