Missy has been Sebastien's assistant for four years and has gone unnoticed by him the entire time. She works hard and puts in way too many hours doing anything that he asks of her. But after she gets dumped by her boyfriend she decides that its time for a change. When Sebastien thinks about his assistant he notes how organized and attentive she is. He does not notice her looks or how much work she puts into being his assistant, he just takes it as his due. But when he see's the new Missy while working in Las Vegas he is stunned. Missy is no longer the homely looking assistant he once knew, she is now dazzling beautiful without her glasses, a nice haircut, and sexier more sensual clothing. Also Missy is now his ex-employee after giving her notice shortly after the arrive in Las Vegas.
Missy has reinvented herself by bring out her old wild roots. She wants a change and knows that that can't happen while she is still working for Sebastien. She can't say know when he requests things of her so she needs to make a clean break. Expect Sebastien won't let that happen he will do anything to keep his assistant with him. So when Missy makes a bet with him a the roulette table, he wins she comes back to work for him, she wins she gets him for one night. Believing that he will win Sebastien indulges in the bet but everything changes when Missy wins and their one night is better than either of them could imagine. Everything gets complicated pretty quick for these two with family members and each of their past relationships coming back to haunt them with their insecurities and doubts.
I really liked this story. I read it in a few hours an thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked how Missy changed and stood up for herself. She deserved better and wouldn't accept any less. Sebastien was also a great leading male, he started off as an overbearing boss who kind of sounded like a jerk with his being inconsiderate of how much he affected everyone around him. But you could tell that he genuinely didn't know the effect he had on his employees and he worked to change that in a small amount of time. This was a great story and I will definitely be reading more by this author.
