I found this book surprisingly engaging. It isn't my usual genre, but I picked it up after a friend told me how much she enjoyed reading it for book club (and like me, wouldn't have picked it up on its own). It is a well told story with complex characters and a nice, but uncontrived element of suspense. The book raises some really interesting moral/ethical questions that it deals with in a refreshingly nuanced and multifaceted manner instead of moralizing.
