This comes from a tried and true television producing/writing duo who worked together for
years on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and are currently doing the same on "A
Gifted Man". It started out as a medical thriller movie outline, but their agent talked
them into writing a book instead. And it's one HECK of a book. It's about a brilliant
young forensic psychiatrist who begins a prestigious fellowship working with a well
respected doctor dealing with criminal psychopaths. Her first patient, Todd Quimby, is a
challenge to her, and she goes a bit too far in trying to help him, triggering horrors
upon horrors. This is a multi-leveled story with several things going on that become
deeply entwined with each other. The pace is frantic--I read this book straight through
because I just could not put it down. A fantastic and mesmerizing read.
