Biographical Fiction
Book: “Picasso and the Girl with a Ponytail”
Author: Laurence Anholt
This was a story based on facts about Picasso in 1954. In the back of the book it had a real photo of the girl with the ponytail. The time line is relevant and the details were really vividly portrayed. The author did not stereotype the characters. The writing style was very engaging for the reader. Some parts made it seem like you were part of the story, the author made the painting come alive. The book was geared towards the children form age 4 through 7. This book really portrayed the story of a warm-hearted Picasso.
