really liked it
bookshelves: mm, series

OK, it probably makes sense to read Legal Artistry before you read this sequel, but it had been a little while for me and I found I could appreciate it for its own merits.

I liked the dynamic of the two MCs: Brian the coming-out attorney and Nicolai the art restorer. Zoe, Brian's little girl, was almost MC in her own right as she was part of the glue that bonded the two men.

I liked particularly that there wasn't a lot of angst about Nicolai's lack of hearing. I liked it also that there wasn't some huge crisis caused by Nicolai's ex. The story did not need that; good for Mr. Grey not to shove it in.

The reason for the lack of a 5th star: even with prompts from the author it was sometimes difficult for me to shift from POV: audio to POV: signing and back again. Apart from this, a thoroughly enjoyable read.
