I would give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars, I love Kim Harrison and her books and I especially am fond of this book in particular, because I won it on a Manic Monday giveaway! It was signed, so it is a special treasure to me. This was the third book, but I bought the other two and have devoured each of them down in no time flat, her books are so easy to read that you get lost in her world.

Madison Avery is dead, the dark timekeeper and little by little coming to terms with her power, she still has her quirks though. She still has the hang up with thinking that being dark is bad and struggling against it. When she flashes foward and sees a young boy die and a girl's life end because of it, she sets on the path to save it. In her attempt to save the boy and girl she comes off as a crazy and saves them from the fire, but will that save the girl soul and help Madison's cause for ending reapings?
