Too many "light" sex scenes.

I have never read any Ernest Hemingway novels, and don't really want to after reading this novel. The way he treated his wife was deplorable.

It was well written and well researched; just wasn't a fun story to read. I would get so depressed that I'd have to put the book down and listen to soothing music to calm myself down. The characters (at least Hadley) was very endearing and connectable. She saved the book, but also made is so much worse when Ernest treated her poorly.
