I love this series and accidentally re-read this title, having confused it with the only one not read yet. So it was a second read for this time, but still enjoyable. Cheryl and Terese commented earlier this year that Linda was not much fleshed out, and I both agree with them and don't remember that the author remedied the situation very effectively in subsequent titles. This is perplexing because she's so strong at characterization.

A note to Terese: yes, it IS possible to sew window treatments all day! I was an interior designer for almost 20 years and worked with several drapery workrooms, some of them one-person businesses and some several-person businesses, which did nothing but measure, fabricate or repair, and install hardware and window treatments. Some jobs were simpler, such as two sets of traditional draperies for a residential living room. Some were complex, such as adapting hardware to conform to 27' of curving windows or putting out a couple of hundred treatments for a condo or development project such as Linda took on in one of the books. While some folks may approach this as hobby, for many it's a business, complete with expenses, deadlines, happy/unhappy customers, liability insurance, long hours, and all the responsibilities and demands that go with operating any business.
