I liked this story about Clay (the detective from His Perfect Partner) and his estranged foster brother Logan. When they were 20, Clay confessed he was gay and Logan ran. 16 years later, Logan is wounded in Afghanistan losing his hearing. Clay takes him in and does his best to help him heal, but Logan is closed off, angry, suffering from PTSD and had lost his lover in the firefight that cost him his hearing. He is extremely damaged and suffering from a lot of guilt as well. This book is about them finding their way back to each other and having the courage to speak the truth. Matt, Logan's psychiatrist is also a support for him in navigating his way back into the civilian world and addressing all of the past trauma of Logan's life including the sexual abuse he suffered as a child.

The other characters from the first two books of this series play some supporting roles. I'm hoping the next book will be about Trevor and Matt.
