We meet Arthur and George as boys and watch them grow up. One to be a famous author and the other to become a solicitor who is accused of a crime. George reaches out to Sir Arthur to assist him in proving that he did not commit the crime he was accused. The story is told wonderfully with jumps between the two men and the various events that happen in both their lives to help shape who the become. A very moving tale that is based totally on true events. For people who don't like to read history this is a great way to learn a bit more about that time and history lovers might enjoy the "fictional" interpretations about who some things happened.
