On the First Night of Christmas
by Heidi Rice (Goodreads Author)
by Heidi Rice (Goodreads Author)
Heidi Rice is an automatic buy for me and when this popped up on my Kindle on November 1st it took considerable will power for me not to dive right into reading it.
However, I couldn't resist for long. I read this over three days, just because I really had no time to read, and I had to drag myself away from it every time.
Jace is a wonderfully tortured hero and you can immediately relate to Cassidy. How many times have you got splashed by some inconsiderate car driver going straight through a puddle and wished you could tell them exactly what you thought of them?
Well that is exactly what happened to Cassidy, and being the feisty lady she is, she jumps into Jace's car to confront him. She didn't count on Jace being Jace the Ace, she had a huge crush on during her school years.
When he invites her back to his hotel suite to have her coat dry cleaned, Cassidy gets more than she bargained for. She gets her very own candy man and they embark on a sizzling Christmas fling. Falling in love was not part of the bargain, but of course that is exactly what happens.
As is expected of Heidi, the sex scenes sizzle and the dialogue sparkles and I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of reading it. Jace is a hero to die for and I fell in love with him a little, I have to say :-)
I'm not ashamed to say that the ending brought happy tears to my eyes.

How did this pop up on your Kindle? Are you in the UK because I had to cancel my subscription and buy them through Amazon to get HP books on my Kindle.
