So many things puzzled me about this book, which I moderately enjoyed reading. I wasn't really familiar with this person before so I did a little googling and was relieved to find that I no longer need to feel like every love story I've ever witnessed or been part of wasn't real because they haven't approached the one told in this book--apparently this lady is kind of crazy. I spent most of the book trying to reconcile the cognitive dissonance I felt about her being some kind of Los Angeles party girl and also, apparently, a virgin until she married. It's possible people like this exist, but the fact that she wrote as if it wasn't worth remarking on--as if we should all just ASSUME that she and her boyfriend would be waiting for marriage--was very, very strange.

She did write about the food pretty well, enough that these ordinary dishes sounded like the only things in the world worth eating while I was reading about them.

Chris Gwinn She drives me nuts, but it's possible to subscribe to only the food feed of her blog, and there are some really excellent recipes.
