I really enjoyed this second book in the Bright Young Things series. The drama and characterization continued from the first book, but because the characters had already been introduced in the first book, Godbersen spent more time on the plot. The suspense was great, the story moved quickly, and it made me feel like I was really in the midst of a bootlegger rivalry in New York. In this book, Letty continues to chase her dreams of becoming famous and she catches a lucky break. Astrid struggles with her relationship to Charlie until something happens that shows her she can't live without him. Cordelia aims to honour her father's legacy and prove to the world that she isn't some socialite who wants to live off her father's hard work.
