Although I've read it almost 10 years ago, it still marks me for the way Mr Beevor narrates this dramatic moment for some marked the turnpoint of world war 2 outcome. Not being to 'technical' as some military hitory books can be, he provides the strategic overview of the battle very well enriched with the narration of the suffering the soldiers on both sides had to endure, during the various stages of the Battle. Never leaves my mind what must have been that dramatic moment of the last german airplanes full of wounded leaving the surrounded airport under russian fire.
Excellent story telling.
