"At Wetish College, baseball star Henry Skrimshander seems destined for big-league stardom. But when a routine throw goes diastrously off course, the fates of five people are upended."
The edition I read began with eight pages of acclaim. When I finished, I concluded that it is worthy of every bit of it. Art of Fielding is an engrossing book that I didn't want to put down. It's a lengthy book that runs over 500 pages, but the story never slowed and the medium-length chapters with alternating points of view maintained a steady momentum. This is a book that is a guaranteed-read. Readers with various tastes will enjoy it and it makes a great book club read. It's a Division-III baseball team's soap opera and one of the best books I have read so far this year.
