This book is written by Jaime Lee Curtis. I do not recall having read other books by celebrities. From my understanding, Madonna and other famous celebrities have written books for children. This is a picture book. The illustrations are well crafted. They are delightful to look at and full of such little details. Through a cute story about family and responsibility Jaime Lee Curtis presents various vocabulary (robust) words to young readers. Children will learn words like patience and persevere. The story line offers the reader a good example of the BIG word so that children could engage in conversations on the words and eventually improve and expand their vocabulary.
I would use this book at the beginning of the year right before introducing the vocabulary componenent of ther reading curriculum.
