A fascinating glimpse into Icelandic life. The darkness of the plot and the environment could easily have been overwhelming but the essential humanity of the lead detective - Erlunder - guides us safely through. The tale is one of endurance, how the consequences of our actions can ripple across years and have consequences beyond expectations.
