This book was about Joe Mackenzie, who we met in Mackenzie's Mountain. It's no surprise to see that he has gone as far and as fast as he has. He is highly respected by his men. He is still very intense and very private with his emotions. When he meets Caroline he is instantly attracted to her. He uses the idea of protecting her from other men to stake a claim on her. Caroline is very smart, but inexperienced when it came to men. She also tended to be very direct, and told Joe that she was attracted to him. When things started going wrong with the Night Wing project, she was top of the suspect list. The culmination of the mystery was very good.

Amelia-Irene I know I really liked this series and was sorry when the last book came about...

Susan I still need to read the other brothers' stories - they're on my list of hundreds of books I still want to read. :-P

Amelia-Irene There's also the little sister's story. As well as the parents story - If I remember correctly there's about 6 or 7 books altogether. Chance's story doesn't have MacKenzie in it's title. And the sister/daughter's story doesn't either if I'm remembering correctly.
