really liked it

Dead as a doornail is a bit of a downer after Dead to the World, I ran off to the library to get this book hoping for more of Sookie and Eric and was disappointed to find that instead Sookie was receiving offers from Calvin the were panther, Alcide the were wolf, Sam the (collie) shifter, interest was shown with Quinn the tiger and of course there was Bill, attempting to make her jealous.
As with the previous book, Sookie has moved away from saying how dumb she is every 3 pages, which makes for a nice change- I wonder if there were some complaints about her doing that, because now she is always talking about her word of the day........

This book is full of mystery, someone burnt Sookie's house down, why did they do it? Which of hundreds of motivations was the reason it was burnt, someone has been shooting shifters, is it related? and who was it, poor Jason is under suspicion by the were community, and is a little too delighted when he is cleared of the charge. What sort of brother would visit his sister in hospital directly after she was shot gleefully saying how he was free of guilt and the whole world knew it? Apparently Jason...
Also, what has happened to Eric and Sookie's blood bond in this book, whenever she is in danger he doesn't seem to know about it, or is it just an excuse to call for a refreshing in the future? I guess only the next book will tell!
