it was ok
bookshelves: dystopia, young-adult, read-in-2012
Read from January 17 to 19, 2012

This is another of the dreaded (well, for me) overly-romantic teen dystopias that spend way more time developing a cheesy love at first sight infatuation and not nearly enough time spent on fleshing the world out. I was interested in reading this because of the caste system, but overall there's not all that much attention spent to it except to cause some drama and plot progression here and there.

Fairly predictable, and the prose is solid enough that it isn't horrible to get through. I didn't care for the characters, however, and don't know if I'll be bothering with the sequel. This could have stood stronger as a stand alone. Will probably appeal to readers who are more into romance than I am!
