I Just Want My Pants Back

When I was in high school, I picked up Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding, and eventually went on a chick lit binge. My day was not complete unless it was satisfied by Red Ink Press. When I pick up one of these titles now, I can't stand the whiney voice that these typical characters portray and I curse the authors off here on good reads. But I now present to you I Just Want My Pants Back by David J. Rosen. Here is the guys version of being single in the city.
This is a guy's book. Its filled with sex, drugs, drinking, and more, but it was really funny and honest. I enjoyed this book so much.
The novel is about Jason Strider, a Cornell graduate working as a temp in a casting agency, who hasn't had much luck with the ladies. Until one night he ventures to a bar and meets Jane, who eventually ends his dry spell. Even better, she calls him up for a second meeting (not much of a date). As fate would have it, she doesn't have enough money to take a cab home so she crashes at Jason's apartment in the West Village. Since no girl wants to do the walk a shame the next morning in a tight blue mini skirt, she borrows Jason's favorite pair of Dickies and sets off. Two weeks later, Jason hasn't heard from Jane or his Dickies.
If you're looking for a quick read and laugh (although I wouldn't recommend reading it on the train because I tried holding in a laugh and it came out as a loud, embarrassing snort) then this a great summer read. I'd also recommend it to people who need a break from hearing the girls complain.
