2nd read: May 2015- I LOVED this book the second time around. The first time I read it I was expecting something totally different so there were some parts where I was slightly let down. This time around I was thoroughly engrossed. There are a few parts that are long winded but that is to be expected with big books. Raising my rate to 5 stars.

First read July 2012: I have been anxiously waiting this book to come out and I would say that for the most part I really liked it. There were many times where I thought I would give it five stars but in the end I am going to go with four with the option to change my mind later.

There was a lot of name dropping and I wish I was more familiar with the history behind some of the people and stories which were mentioned, as it would have been more fun for me to see how she weaved history and fiction together. There were also some areas that I felt did not receive enough attention while other sections were overly detailed. I think those things tend to come with this particular author so ultimately it wasn't something that bothered me too much.

I love this series and cannot wait for the next installment.
