This story details the unlikely friendship between an off-beat knitter who carries all of her mistakes around in bags, a textile historian who has lost her husband, and an homeless-by-choice pensioner. I really enjoyed watching the story unfold as the characters learned more about each other and came to peace with their ails.

On to the food, Every book eats:

"Martha was carrying the usual three bags plus a shopping bag bulging butternut squash and potatoes and a nice meaty bone she has found at the market. It had been a long day, and she looked forward to wrapping herself around some soup."

Erin I've been going through your "read" list & stealing titles for my "to read" list -- so thank you :) This one looks like it would be perfect for the KnitLit group.
