I had to read this book for a Modernism class and I was actually surprised by how good it was. The characters are definitely confusing, and the plot line can be dull at times, but I came to the conclusion that it was all done intentionally to heighten the feeling of modernist America. For all the dull parts though, there are certainly interesting (and gruesome) ones. The language is also amazing.
