Rebecca Graf I had to read this book for a class. It was one that I had heard a lot about but never read. I'm glad I finally did read it.

Once I was done, I realized that though Ms. Stowe wrote about various conditions slaves lived in that she could not have covered them all unless she documented every single slave's life as each one had something different. Some had it made and were well educated and taken care of. Others were treated worse than farm animals. Their deaths many times occurred at the hands of their masters.

I found myself crying during many parts of the book mainly death scenes and the loss of a child. My imagination can only see so much. It's a different world that few saw yet it effected so many.

This is a book that you need to read. Even if you think you know what it is about, you probably are wrong. It was not what I had imagined it to be. Read it for yourself.
