Sarah is having difficulty committing to the Amish life and setting a wedding date with her fiance. She is also missing her older brother Caleb who has gone "English". With Christmas fast approaching, she sees the sadness her mother displays over the 5 year laps of hearing anything from Caleb. She hopes that finding Caleb will help her answer the questions over her future.

Mary Ellis does a nice job in her short Christmas "novella" of the interplay of personalities and questions of commitment and forgiveness interspersed with the Christmas theme of love, light, and hope.
