Steve Kettmann And how are you enjoying this? I plan to read it in the next few weeks. I live in Berlin.

BarbaraNathalie I can't really say I enjoy it, but is essential reading for me. I've been a WWll buff since I was 8 years old, with a lot of focus on the holocaust. My son attended university in the Hague and met his wife there. I had to regroup and started reading from the German perspective because she is from near Aachen. They had their engagement party in Germany, so I've been there, of course. It's so clean, and I saw a lot of countryside cycling with her friends and family. Tina and my son say Berlin is like Paris, but better. Back to the book, I think it's beautiful and haunting.

Steve Kettmann I highly recommend this one:

BarbaraNathalie If you watch documentaries, I recommend Berlin Airlift. The photo on the cover of The Candy Droppers is the same photo on the documentary cover. Thank you for the recommendation.

I found A woman in Berlin by stumbling onto a pamphlet on the internet: The Ravishing of Women in Conquered Europe. It is brief and introduced me to something I'd never heard of.
