To me, I can't decide how to rate this book- it would probably be closer to a 3.5, but I don't feel quite ready to give it a 4.

To me, the positives are the wonderful fairy tale quality of the story. It is an excellent retelling of Beauty and the Beat. Also, I love the goblin mythology. Perhaps Goblins are the new vampires. Perhaps they are even the new Carpathian life-mates. Maybe not however, I will definitely read the next book in the series.

Some of the negatives is that Roan is a total Debby Downer and every character in this story is a total emo. There is lots of angst and very little humor. That kind of brought me down.

Also, lots of people have mentioned how much they like the cover, so I will throw in my $.02- I think that he looks like a huge pecs version of Pacey from Dawson's Creek.
