This was a great highland romance. Alex was an amazing hero and I always enjoyed reading about him. Glynis was also an amazing character she had spunk and was not easily swayed which was great. Alex and Glynis shared an instant attraction but both agreed to be friends due to the fact that they both never wanted to marry. Alex had proclaimed all his life that he never wanted to marry, after having witnessed his parents own horrendous marriage Alex never wanted to go through that. Glynis had a disastrous first marriage which she left in very undiplomatic way. She has no desire to go through that again, though if her father has anything to say about it she will be wed as soon as possible.

To protect his clan Alex has been advised that he should take a wife. To help keep the peace he and a friend of his are both advised of this and at the top of the list that Alex's friends have made for him is Glynis. Glynis knows her father is trying to have her wed again and this time she won't stand around and wait for him to decide her fate, so when she sees Alex at the rebellion meeting and hears he is leaving she blackmails him into taking her to her mothers side of the family. On this trip is danger and romance as Glynis and Alex grow closer. But danger is right behind them at every step wanting to take away their newfound closeness and happiness.

I really liked this book and though I didn't read the first one in the series I will definitely be going back to read it and will read any future books. This was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, and can't wait to read about the other two warrior friends that are still single!
