did not like it
bookshelves: lemmed

I was in college when this book came out in 1993. I have a copy personally signed by Jerry Pournelle. He came and gave a talk and did a book signing on campus. I wish I could say that I went home and devoured this book. I read about one chapter and set it aside. Recently, I had actually made it through my to-read shelf (the physical one at home) and picked this up. Once again, I couldn't get through it. I don't know why. It just didn't grip me.

bsc Sandi, you don't mention having read Mote in God's Eye. If you haven't read it, I can understand the frustration. Mote is great...probably my favorite scifi book...and though this is no Mote, I found it an adequate sequel.

Sandi Maybe I should check out Mote in God's Eye. I'll consider it once I get through my to-read and want-to-read-but-need-a-copy list.
