Love Is Blind

Clarissa is a myopic lady. Her stepmother doesn’t allow her to wear spectacles, so her season in London is a catastrophe after catastrophe. But nothing beats Clarissa, nor the meanness of her stepmother, nor the pity or disregard from others. She is not oblivious from others, she just does not let them hurt her. She is honest, humble, curious so it is not a surprise when Adrian Montfort, for whom her blindness is a bless (he is scarred), falls for her.
Clarissa is a really lovable character. It makes for really funny scenes and some of them are really memorable, such as her wedding night. The plot is spiced with a suspense which spins around someone trying to murder her (a little far-fetched story). What I didn’t bought was her forgiveness. That was too much.
It is also the usual "historical" that doesn't really fit in the historical category (not documented or realistic enough). But on the whole, it is a nice, entertaining and enjoyable reading.
