Faro's Daughter is rather simple and generic in comparison to most of Heyer's regencies, but still a treat for its lively tone and skillful Heyer prose. Hero's concern for his young cousin is touching, but it makes him annoyingly ready to leap to conclusions. Heroine is mostly feisty and awesome, but has moments of silliness. Also her insecurities lack subtlety. The ending is a preposterous farce, but it sends you out of the book on a delicious comedic high. An entertaining read or listen! Sept/13
