The outsider's view into this young man's life is surprisingly clear. He started out with a strike against him, displaying addictive and obsessive behaviours from early childhood (according to his account). Combine that with a lack of sufficient parental supervision and you have a recipe for disaster.

I am glad to see that there is no glory here. His life as an addict certainly was not fabulous.
